Immigration Canada has several programs for the admission and processing of applications for permanent residence, and is divided into two main groups: economic class and non-economic class:
Economic class: is intended for foreign nationals who can demonstrate their ability to establish themselves economically in Canada. This class includes programs such as:

Non-economic class – is designed for foreign nationals coming to Canada under a family sponsorship program or under a program based on humanitarian aid.
